EXNOVO’s legal and architectural team defended the tenants of a unique building in Barcelona (360 Balmes street) against the property owner’s claim to terminate their rental contracts for the partial demolition of the property. After achieving victory in administrative proceedings (Government Delegation in Catalonia) and in litigation (Contentious Administrative Court), the tenants have kept their contracts in force and continue to live in the property.
The firm and its team demonstrated at all times an extensive knowledge of urban leases and the dynamics of the real estate market in Barcelona. They were able to successfully defend themselves against the arguments of the legal team of the real estate fund that owned the building, and to assert their own arguments in all instances.
