EXNOVO LawⓇ was founded in 2009. Our name comes from the Latin "ex novo", which means to restart a process, to do something again from scratch. We felt that was exactly what we were going to do. And we feel we’ve achieved that.
We have specialised in the tourism real estate, hotel, and technology sectors linked to these areas. Our clients are professionals, family businesses, start-ups, growing companies and individuals. Technical and professional excellence coupled with our ability to take care of every detail when working on the ground are the attributes that define our methodology for every project we undertake, regardless of its size.
Corporate Social Responsibility is another fundamental element. We dedicate an important part of our time and resources to pro bono activities and to the promotion of social projects concerned with people with special needs and animal welfare.

Aldo Ibáñez
Lawyer
Sitges, Barcelona, 1970. Graduate in Law from the University of Barcelona, practising lawyer at the Barcelona Bar Association, Master in Business Law from the University of Navarra, Master in Real Estate and Urban Planning Law from the Pompeu Fabra University, Global Advanced Management Program from Georgetown University and ESADE, Master in Hotel Management from the University of Barcelona. Member of the Barcelona Bar Association.
Romualdo (although everyone calls him Aldo) is the founding partner of EXNOVO Law and has 25 years of experience in providing legal advice to individuals and companies. He has written articles on real estate investment, and has a long teaching career in postgraduate courses on legal aspects of business management, real estate investment and contracting in the hotel sector (University of Barcelona, Company Institute in Madrid and the Autonomous University in Barcelona).
Aldo speaks English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
Helena Torrents

Pere Gibert

Despite his youth, he is already a key member of the team, always ready for action, and the first to step forward in the team's social projects.

Rafael Alarcón

Rafael has more than 25 years’ experience in giving real estate legal advice. He is an expert in the analysis of real estate transactions from a legal point of view, obtaining the best balance between legal technique and business vision. He has great professional prestige in matters of urban leases, the purchase and sale of real estate, construction and architecture contracts, claims for damages in construction, and real estate litigation in general. Since the beginning of EXNOVO Law, Rafa shares with us clients, experience and friendship.

Agustí Peñalvert

Barcelona 1976. Graduated in Law from the University of Lleida, he continues his training as a lawyer, preparing the State Exams to the Access the Judicial Career. Master in International Business Law at ESADE. Expert in Prevention of Money Laundering and Compliance Officer by Thomson Reuters. Member of the Law of Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Barcelona.
Agustí has extensive professional experience as a lawyer in all Spain, in the area of Criminal Law and Civil Law, and has acted legally and has coordinated the defense of various companies and individuals, in order to define their strategy in litigation of national and international scope. He regularly collaborates with EXNOVO Law on highly complex criminal and civil matters.
Albert Labastida
Consultant
Barcelona, 1979. Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and Master in International Tourism from ESADE.
Albert is EXNOVO's point of reference in hospitality asset management, hotel due diligence and project repositioning. His experience includes the management of first class hotels, hotel consultancy and personal entrepreneurial projects connected to the world of hospitality. His point of view and analysis in hotel management contracting is indispensable.
He is a lecturer at the EUTDH (School of Tourism and Hotel Management) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Albert speaks English, French, Spanish and Catalan.
Maria Alterachs
Technical Architect
Barcelona, 1973. Diploma in Technical Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Barcelona.
Maria has 25 years of experience in the construction and architecture sector, and is in charge of due diligence of real estate assets and forensic architecture. Her practical experience is essential to provide useful and quantifiable solutions.
