Cross-border real estate investment has an element of great complexity. It is necessary to have a very clear strategic approach and to choose local teams that fit that strategy. EXNOVO Law’s asset management legal teams designed an appropriate strategy for the Tytano complex in Krakow, Poland, and managed to legally clean up and enhance the value of an extraordinarily complicated and large real estate complex (about 30,000m2 in 8 historic buildings). 

The legal team dealt with more than 30 disputes with squatters until their removal from the complex and, in parallel, pushed for an amendment to the district master plan, obtained a building permit, managed the classification of the complex as a national protected monument, dealt with a soil contamination situation, and coordinated a process of selling the complex during the lockdown at a time of extreme difficulty.
